Grins & Giggles

This afternoon after a nap Miss Lindsay was all smiles... it made Mama & Daddy's hearts melt! Mama was being silly and making faces/sounds and she found one she thought was hilarious... We were so lucky Daddy got to see it and capture in photos!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Went to the Dr.'s yesterday... Lindsay weighs 9lbs, 8oz! She is measuring in the 75% percentile for both height and weight! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

One Month Old!!

One month ago our lives changed forever when our sweet baby girl was born! She has been such a blessing and joy!! We are so excited to watch her grow, and delight in the privilege of being her parents. Her little personality is slowly coming out, and we can definitely say we have a really good baby!

**She's been sleeping in her big girl crib since she was 7 days old... she really loves it! Mama and Daddy have a monitor to keep an eye/ear on her, but she lets us sleep some nights for 4 hrs in a row!

**Lindsay girl has been 'talking' and making more and more noises. The other morning I heard sounds from our monitor and she was smiling and cooing, looking at the stripes on her bumper. Jarrett's an early bird, and I think she takes after him!

**Lindsay took her first breast milk bottle (yay!) this week! Daddy gave her the bottle in the rocking chair and she ate 3 oz, followed by some good burps! We were thrilled she took the bottle without a fuss, which is wonderful for when Jarrett & I want to go to dinner or a movie and get a babysitter!

**Lindsay has been making eye contact and smiling (I know they say it's just gas bubbles, but it still melts my heart :) She has a dimple on the left side of her cheek, and its precious! I look forward to seeing it more as she gets older!

**ROLLS! She is eating every 2-3 hours, sometimes 3-4 hrs at night (only a couple times). She's been eating good, and she had rolls on her arms, legs and an adorable double chin!

**Look I found my tongue! Just in the past few days, she has been sticking her tongue out at Mama and Daddy... and she is surprised when she gets a hold of her hand in her mouth!

On another note...I absolutely LOVE being a Mother! Sometimes I just stare at her and think, "Wow! I can't believe how unbelievably blessed I am!" I just want to squeeze her- but I refrain..lol. They say you don't know how much you can love something until you become a parent, and I can say that I agree. It really puts it in perspective the unconditional love Christ has for us, His precious children. Thank you to all our family and friends for their prayers and love! Lindsay is one lucky girl to have so many people who love her!

Happy Birthday Jarrett!!

Lindsay and I made a sign for Daddy to see when he woke up on his birthday! We made cinnamon rolls and coffee and opened presents. Mommy got him colonge and Lindsay got him a picture frame for his desk!
Grandma Carol made Jarrett's favorite cake, chocolate cake with chocolate AND vanilla frosting...

Uncle Jarrett had fun feeding Nate guacamole... he LOVES to eat!

On March 5th we celebrated Jarrett's 31st birthday!! He is the MOST wonderful husband, best friend and father in the world! Jarrett's sister Sarah and her son, Nate (whose birthday is March 4th) came for a visit from North Carolina and stopped by our place on Friday with Grandma Carol and Aunt Katie and Cousin Kat. Lindsay got to meet her cousins for the first time on Friday- Cousin Nate (1 year, 1 day), and Cousin Katarina (2 months, 2 weeks). We had so much fun! We love you guys!!

Two Weeks and Tummy Time!

This picture cracks me up... she looks so serious! I think she is looking more and more like her Daddy...especially her lips! Here are a few highlights:

**Lindsay turned 2 weeks old on Monday, and we had her second pediatrician appointment. She weights 8 lbs, 9 oz and is in the 75% percentile for height and weight!

**She has been a good little eater, and last night she let Mommy and Daddy sleep for 4 hours in a row (wow! too bad it won't last).

**We noticed on Sunday her eyes have begun to change color and lighten up.. our guess is probably green, but maybe blue (Cross side of the family)?

**Her hair is lightening up from a brown to more of a golden, light brown.

**Her umbilical cord fell off last week... it looks great and it's an innie LOL. Since it fell off we started tummy time this week...see the pics below! We do tummy time around 2pm and she has lasted about 4-5 minutes before getting tired.

Wow!! What a big girl- she is so strong!! She kept it up for a few seconds!

Ahhhh.... taking a rest from her workout!

Lindsay also has been discovering her hands. She likes to suck on them when she is getting hungry... a clue to Mama to feed her soon! I have been pumping milk and freezing it for Jarrett to give Lindsay a bottle or two after bathtime at night... we are planning on starting next week- hopefully she will take to the bottle! Wish us luck!

Grandpa Rich comes to visit!

Grandpa Rich came for a visit yesterday before he had shoulder surgery today! One of his arms will be out of commission for a while, so he used both of them to hold her until his next visit!

Lindsay loves her Grandpa! She was alert and looking at his face!

She's giving Mom the "I'm getting hungry" look...lol

Grandpa had the magic touch... she was out like a light and oh so comfortable as you can see here! We love our Grandpa!! Come see us again soon!
