Lindsay's 1st Grade Concert

A couple weeks ago Lindsay had her First Grade Concert at school...
Walking in...
This is all of the first grade classes, and the title of their show was "The Bear Goes Over the Mountain." I was so impressed by the painted scenes behind them...
Lindsay was front and center in the tutu skirt ;)

She took the concert very seriously of course!

Singing, "The Bear Goes Over the Mountain"

Great Job Lindsay!! You are a smart, talented and beautiful girl!! We love you!

Andrew Brooks at 18 months

Mr. Hot Rod has officially celebrated his half-birthday and is 18 months old!
Andrew Brooks 18 months

Here are his stats:
height 31.75  inches
weight  23 lbs
hair blonde
eyes blue
teeth  6 top,  6 bottom, plus molars?!
diaper size 4
clothes size 18 months
shoe size: 5

Sleeping: Andrew wakes up around 6am, and goes to bed around 7:15-8 pm and sleeps through most nights. He's been taking 1 afternoon nap around 1-3 pm, but the past couple weeks he has woken up after 45 minutes and is SUPER cranky. Not sure what's going on, but he totally needs it, so we'll have to do a refresh our sleep training tactics.

Favorites:
Food- Bananas, Blueberries, Strawberries (basically all fruit), peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, meat (turkey, ham, meatloaf, bacon and sometimes chicken), party potatoes, pancakes, cheese (in small portions), yogurt, goldfish crackers, cheerios, avocado, french fries.  He knows his mind, and will NOT eat something he doesn't want. That little mouth clamps closed and he shakes his head and will push it off his plate. Sometimes I can trick him into taking a bite off my plate, but he refuses to eat any veggies unless it is in a smoothie. He is my most finicky eater out of the three. He clasps his hands before a meal for prayer, and when I ask, "Who wants to say prayer?" He will raise both hands. LOL.

Guess what his favorite Sesame Street character is???  Cookie Monster! He says, "Mmm Nom Nom" and "Cook Cook" for Cookie. When there happens to be cookies in the oven, he runs over and presses his face to the glass and says "Nom Nom" LOL
Words- Andrew's language has exploded in the last few weeks and he is saying tons of new words... "Mama, Dada, Meme, Nonna, Papa, Sissy, Bubba, milk, up, more, BUS, car car, pup, etc. "Shooz" = shoes, "nack"= snack, "guck"= truck, "boo car"= blue car, "ed car"= red car, "dig"= digger, go go, bye bye, "boo boo" = i'm hurt, "cook cook"= cookie, "wawa"= water, book, ball, "Poo Poo", "Bible", "Amen"

Reading- Drew LOVES to read. His favorite book is "Good night Diggers" and wants to read it every night before bed and at nap time. He enjoys lift-the-flap books, sound effect books and anything about cars, trucks, fire trucks, buses, helicopters, ambulances or tractors ie, things that GO!
Toys- Andrew loves his matchbox cars. He has one in almost all the primary colors, and I am working on teaching him his colors with them! He carries them around, lines them up, rolls them down beds, tables and rugs and puts them in interesting places. I found one in my running shoe one day...

I heard Madison talking in his room and walked in on her "reading" him a story.

Andrew loves to make animal sounds: Moo, Baa, Bock Bock (chicken), Hoo Hoo (owl), Ooo ahh (monkey), Rawr  (dinosaur/lion/bear)

Personality-Andy has a sweet disposition most of the time, but when he gets good and mad, he lets out his temper. Thankfully, it isn't too often as long as he's fed, well rested. LOL. I am surprised by how affectionate he is, and will give hugs and kisses and pat me gently on the back. He absolutely loves it when his sisters play with him, chase him around the house or tickle him. He mimics them- I turned the corner and walked into the kitchen seeing all three kids spinning arms out trying to see who would be the first to fall down. It was Andrew. We've had lots of conversations about climbing on the couch/counter, jumping off the stairs etc. "Don't do it, Brother will try to do it too!!"

He's a pretty tough kid, but when he does get hurt, he'll run over to me and point with a sad face, "Boo Boo!" as he waits patiently for a kiss. Andy is a little shy, and takes a few minutes to warm up, then he'll peek up with a grin. Drew is all boy, and his current obsession is school buses. He is gets so excited when he sees them on the road and especially at pick up time. When I say, smile, he will do a goofy, toothy smile...

Dislikes: Vegetables, taking naps longer than 45 mins, stopping something he's really into. He likes to "help" Mama sweep, vacuum, and fold clothes. LOL

He is Jarrett's Son
One of Andrew's many favorite shirts.... Every morning when it's time to get dressed, he will run into his room and point to his tummy and say, "Car Car" then open his drawer and pull out a shirt with a car on it.

Little Buddy loves bath time and water... I have the hardest time trying to get him not to drink all that soapy water. Yuck!

Drew like to 'brush' his teeth in the mornings with Daddy...

Andrew is a joy, and is constantly making us laugh. We've enjoyed him so much, and he knows he is adored by his family! We love you Andy Boo!!

Madison's Field Trip to the Farm

A couple weeks ago Madison's preschool class went on a field trip to a local working farm. Anyone who's met Maddie knows of her obsession with farm life, especially horses. Needless to say when they announced they were going to get there by riding a bus, she was sold! It was all she could talk about for weeks, and finally the day arrived for her to go...
Sophia and Madison
A HUGE thank you to Sophia's sweet Mama who chaperoned and took all these precious pictures of the girls.
Madison shucking corn kernels

Listening very carefully how to get those corn kernels out...
It is spring time on the farm and there were TONS of baby lambs, chicks and ducks.
Look at those sweet little lambies!
Mrs. Ervine, the class aide and the girls churning butter...

Madison really thought the baby pigs were cute... until she got close enough to smell them. LOL.

She told me, "Those pigs are sure cute, but stinky."
They demonstrated how they shear the sheep and spin the wool into yarn. Madison brought home her very own piece of wool.
 Soft baby lamby...
Pet the hens and got to pick an egg out of the hen house...

Madison LOVED her field trip to the farm and is convinced she will someday own a farm of her own. She told me, "Mama, when you come to visit my farm I will teach you how to ride horses. We'll go riding together!" I love that precious girl. LOL,
