10 Months

Lindsay has had another busy month and it could be described in one word: TEETHING! She is modeling her Christmas dress before we went to visit Santa...
Pulling up on everything...
Boy, when this girl grows, she really GROWS! After crawling last month, Lindsay kicked it up into high gear... Here are some new things she has been doing:
** Toofers! Lindsay has cut not one, not two, but 3 1/2 teeth, the fourth one breaking through this week! Bottom two were first, then then the top two! Needless to say, we've had some sleepless nights :) Despite being in pain, she is still her sweet, happy social self. And oh boy, is she proud of her tiny, white teeth!
** Waving to everything/everyone. She reaches her arm out and makes a grabbing motion with her hand...too cute.
** Blowing kisses... mainly to herself, but occasionally to a person :) She learned this from Daddy, who blows her a kiss every night as he closes the door to her bedroom.
** Pulling up... She has been pulling up on people and furniture!
** Baby Techie? I watched her the other day use her finger to flip through photos on Daddy's Iphone... Nuts!
** Lindsay still loves to read her books... she has been really into this cute little tea set by Fisher Price we got her a while back. Here she is reading a book and having a cup of tea :)
My little buddy and me... what a special, sweet, funny girl :) I love having tea parties with her; it's been such a joy and privilege to get to be home with her the past 10 months. It's gone by way too fast...sniffle.

Merry 1st Christmas

We had a fun Christmas, spent with the Cross/Smith/Shipman/Reid families! I am kicking myself for not taking very many photos, but instead I took a TON of video. We captured Lindsay opening her presents at home on the 23rd, hanging out at Grammie Kellie's, reading stories with Grandpa Rich and playing with her cousin Kat. We also celebrated Kat's 1st birthday on Dec. 23rd too!
I got 3 new books for Lindsay and our other future children to read at Christmas time... starting a new tradition!
Although she is only 10 months, boy did this little gal get spoiled... here is what Santa brought her at home... I think we are going to have to set a limit for the grandparents next year :) Thank you everyone for all the sweet gifts.
We looked at Christmas lights in Woodland Hills on the 22nd... Jarrett wanted me to take a picture of the Charlie Brown lights...LOL.
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas spent with the ones you love. Happy Birthday Jesus!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

This morning I was listening to the Frank Sinatra Rat Pack Christmas CD (one of my all-time favorites) and wanted to post a little bit of what we've been up to this holiday season (so far)... Making messes in the kitchen Tupperware while Mama bakes....
Decorating the house and listening to Christmas music...

Put the tree on top of the side table to prevent it toppling over from Lindsay pulling up...

Eating cheese and turkey finger foods...

Pulling up in her crib... we moved it down to the last setting :( Baby is growing up... Love this pic, it looks like she could say, "WHAZZZ UP Mama?"
Today I'm taking Lindsay to see Santa at the The Oaks Mall, and then tonight we are going to look at Christmas lights in Woodland Hills....Let the Christmas Spirit abound!

We Did It!!

Lindsay and I completed our 1st 5K on Saturday... 32 minutes 26 seconds!
She is looking at me here like, "Are you sure you want to do this Mama?"There were a TON of people running...over 4,000! I just wanted to finish the race, and to not walk and jog the entire time. I didn't walk, and I surprised myself when I ran 10.5 minute miles, which I had never done before :) Guess it was the adrinaline.

Our sweet friends, Lucas & Jena Rucks ran with me and Lindsay (well actually ran ahead of us!) We all came in within a minute of each other. It is funny because none of us would classify ourselves as "runners" but we had a ball! It was so much fun getting to share our stories after the race, they are amazing friends. We all shared a yummy lunch at World Cafe in Santa Monica afterwards.

Here we are crossing the finish line. Behind the guy with the jogger...LOL. Thank you to the best husband in the world for cheering us on!

Jena, Me & Lindsay... Next year our goal is to shave 10 minutes off our time :)

Lindsay did so great during the race, she didn't fall asleep like she usually does, but there was a ton of people/dogs/other kids to look at. She is my little buddy, and has been training with me for months. I loved getting to share the moment of crossing the finish line with her.

Turkey Day

Eatin' mashed potatos and gravy in the high chair Great Grandpa Joe built me....YUM!
The spread... My Grandma is the most fabulous cook. Period.

Miss Lindsay... Love the look Grammy Kellie is giving her grandbaby in the background...precious!

Pre-Turkey Day Playtime... Auntie Annie getting some playtime in while on a break from cooking Thanksgiving with Grandma and me.
I actually forgot my camera (ugh!) and didn't get any pictures of my sweet mother-in-law, Carol's, birthday. We stayed with her over the holiday and had a fabulous time. She was kind enough to babysit while we attended our annual Night-Before Thanksgiving Dinner with our friends who come home for the holiday. We were even captured on the local news... here is the clip we are only on for a minute or so :)

9 Months

Lindsay's been busy this month!! Here is our sweet baby girl.... Why she is leaning I have no clue.
Happy Girl
Watch out Mama, I am going after you (actually the camera)!
Big Girl standing by herself!

* 9 month stats from the Dr.'s: height 28 inches........... 75th percentile and her weight is 17 lbs. 11 oz...... 25th percentile
* Houston, we have a CRAWLER!! Lindsay decided last Friday that she was ready to do some serious moving and crawled. At first it was only a foot or so, but she practiced all weekend and now she can get around pretty good! Definitely good enough for Mama to do some serious baby-proofing of the house. I'll take a video and post it in the next couple of days...

* Teeth...As of today she has no teeth, but tomorrow could be different! Her gummies have been swollen for days and the Dr. said on Monday they will be coming through any day now. She doesn't act like she is too miserable YET, but it is coming...yikes!
* Clapping...She has been clapping for a week or two now and it is precious. See the video below :)
* Moving to the music... Lindsay loves music, and she has been 'dancing' or really just moving her head and bobbing to the beat. One day when we were at a Mexican restaurant she got pretty excited about the mariachi music playing and put on a show.... I think it's the Arvizu side coming through!!
* Reading... No she cannot read yet...BUT she does like to turn the pages when we read her Sesame Street books! Sometimes she will even let me finish reading the page to her before she turns it.
* Talking...Now, Lindsay has always been pretty chatty. We have taken chattering to a whole new level this month. She will TELL you how it is. She gets pretty animated and uses her hands and moves her head back and forth in a very valley-girl way that is super cute. She says "Babababa" her favorite, "Dadadadada" and just within the past few days we heard, "Mamama"...yay!!
* Sleeping... We are sleep training this weekend. More to come on that later :)
* Loving... Lindsay likes to snuggle when she's tired, but we have been practicing 'kisses' and 'hugs' and when she feel inclined to, will occasionally give a 'kiss'. They consist of a slobbery head-bash, but they are sweet nonetheless.
* Eating... She has been a huge fan of veggies, and we are introducing more and more finger foods. She has a texture issue, and isn't quite sure what to think of stuff that requires actual chewing. Maybe when she gets a couple teeth she will feel differently?
Love you Lindsay Loo!

Happy 1st Halloween

Here are some pics of Lindsay's 1st Halloween... there are a ton, but hey, it's memorable :)
Grammy Kellie got Lindsay the cutest fuzzy pumpkin bag and she put Lindsay's favorite 'treats' in it: Yogurt Bites and Puffs...yum!!

She was teething, and was such a trooper. On the grass in Grandpa's front yard... Grandpa Rich and his "Lamby-Kins" as he called her...lol
Flying Lamb
Daddy & Daughter at Grandma Carol's
Yum... Mike & Ike's have a tasty box.

We were so excited to have Jarrett's sister Sarah, Peter (her husband) and Cousin Nate visiting from North Carolina. Auntie Sarah's birthday was the 31st, and we got to celebrate with her all weekend long. It was so fun to have all the cousins together. Nate was so gentle with his little baby girl cousins. He would give them hugs and kisses.

Lindsay 8.5 months: Lamb, Nate 19 months: Cow that Jumped over the Moon (you can see the crescent moon pinned to his tummy) and Katarina 10 months: Little Lady Bug. Seriously, how cute are they?!?!?
The birthday girl, Auntie Sarah and Nate, Lindsay & Me...Nate had a singing card that was the envy of all the kids. It played "Monster Mash" and they loved opening it and closing it and opening it and closing it and well, you get the idea. LOL.
Grandma Carol, Daddy & Lindsay
Thank you to all of our family for making Lindsay's 1st Halloween so special. I know she won't remember it, but she will always have the sweet pictures of all of the people who love her on that day!!

Pumpkin Patch

We took Lindsay to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend! We went to Underwood Farms in Moorpark and it was just too precious! There was a petting zoo, ponies, hayrides, etc... here are WAY too many pics of our visit.. She thought she was hot stuff standing/leaning on the pumpkins.

There were so many pumpkins and squash of all sizes and colors... here is our sweet pumpkin :)

My favorite pic!!

She was very animated when we sat her in the pumpkins; she wanted to touch the stems and they were a little prickly..lol

Hmm...this looks interesting...

She took this pumpkin-picture-taking very seriously.

There were some gentle goats that we got to pet. They were pretty stinky, but sweet.

I thought they looked SO much alike in this pic...precious.

Sheep!

More goats and sheep... she loved watching them walk around the pen.

Practicing for her Halloween Costume...

Look Ma! Queen of the Mountain with Daddy...

Lindsay measured a little over 2 feet... although her hairbow added a couple inches.

Peek a boo! In the corn maze with Daddy!

Lindsay's been waving... She hasn't figured out that she can just wave with one arm, so she waves with both arms.

Sunflowers...pretty!
