Andrew's 1st Birthday Party

 Our sweet boy is officially ONE!! We had a "Down on the Farm" birthday party for him last weekend, here are some pictures of our guy digging into his cake and having fun!!

We had a BBQ feast: BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders, Hot Dogs, Mac n' Cheese, BBQ Beans, Fruit Salad and of course, Sweet Tea and Cupcakes!

Andrew loved the Beans and Meat the best...LOL.

 We played three games at the party, Find the Tractor, Pin the Tail on the Cow and a Barn Piñata! 

We hid a tiny toy tractor in a bin of rice, then blind folded the kids while they had 20 seconds to feel around and find it! There were also assorted farm animals, and it was pretty challenging.

This sweet little guy had the most fun playing with the tractor digging in the rice! Next was Piñata Time!

He enjoyed hanging out with all the big kids!

 We sung "Happy Birthday" but the candle kept blowing out, after he was serenaded twice, we just let him dig in!!

 The kids had a blast playing with all the lawn games, trampoline and playground toys in the yard. It was a lovely fall day, perfect cool weather for having a backyard party!

Andrew opened his traditional 1st birthday gift from Mama & Daddy, his "Born" book.

Madison's First Day of Preschool

The day had finally come for sweet Maddie Grace to go to preschool... and boy, was she ready and excited!!

Madison Grace, 4.5 years old

For her first day of school breakfast she requested Biscuits and Gravy!

The day before we packed up her Princess Sophia backpack she picked out this summer...

Said our goodbye to Big Sis who's school starts a bit earlier in the morning...

"Have a great day Maddie!"

And posed for picture time!!

She climbed into her big girl booster seat, and we were off to St. Ann's!

Madison had her own owl saying, "Look Whooo's in Preschool?!"

 She was SO EXCITED!!

 She found her cubby right away, and hung her backpack and sweater on it.

 She found her name on the circle and sat right down, ready to listen to Mrs. Juliano!

We quickly gave her a kiss and hug goodbye, and walked towards the door. No tears, not even a second look, she was totally ready to begin her preschool adventure. When I picked up Madison, she couldn't wait to tell me about her day; she made new friends: Eleanor and Stella (Grandma names must be popular now!) and played in the sand center; had pretzels and juice for a snack and did weather at circle time. Best of all, she couldn't wait to go back!

*Eating: Drew LOVES to eat. Everything. The only thing that gives him pause are scrambled eggs. His favorites are grilled cheese, avocado, any cooked veggie or meat, cheerios, goldfish, crackers of any kind, blueberries, peaches etc. We are almost through the weaning process, and working this week on dropping the am feed; next week it is the dreaded before bedtime feed. He has been particularly grumpy with weaning, not because he is hungry or needs comfort (he is usually leaning out of my arms to get to his crib), but letting me know, "Hey! This isn't the way we do things around here!" I guess I didn't realize how much he loves his routine.

*Sleeping: Andrew has been sleeping through the night on occasion, but with 2 new teeth popping through and a runny nose, he has been waking up around 11pm and is really mad. Sometimes it takes an hour to get him back to sleep; oralgel helps, and I can't wait for those teeth to come in! We've been doing two naps, 9am and 2pm. He will play in his crib for awhile, then lay down and go to sleep (or stand up and cry). He is getting better at self-soothing and it get easier every day.

*We are having a farm themed 1st birthday party in a couple weeks, and we had fun going to Terhune Farms to take pictures with the wagons and tractors!

Nothing cuter than a baby in overalls. LOL

*New Stuff: CRUSING! Drew loves to cruise on the couch/ottoman and pulls up on anything that is somewhat stable; he enjoys walking while holding your fingers. TURNING PAGES! He loves to be read to, and is sitting still and turning pages for longer periods of time. SAYING "DADA", "MAMA" and shaking head "NO".

*First time at the indoor mall park... Andy LOVED it. We went in the morning before kids came and had the place to ourselves. He crawled all around, pulled up on everything and climbed up the slide all by himself. Such a boy!

*Andrew began CBS last week with me and after some initial crying, he did great in the nursery!

Lindsay's First Day of 1st Grade

 Look who's a FIRST GRADER!!

Lindsay Diane, 6.5 years old

The night before school we packed her lunch, Almond Butter and Strawberry Jelly sandwich, BBQ chips and Double Chocolate Brownie that we made especially for her first week of school. I asked her if she wanted to take an extra one for a friend, and she told me very matter-of-fact, "Mama, we aren't allowed to share each other's food!" There goes the black market lunch box trading. LOL.

 Lindsay was excited to wear her new dress and rainbow (her favorite) sneakers! She insisted that we curl her hair for the first day to look extra special.

 No holding hands as we got closer to the school entrance. Lol.

Lindsay had a wonderful first day of school, and really likes her new teacher, Mrs. Schantzer. She was thrilled to discover she had her own desk, where she could put her neatly organized pencil box. Lol.

Maine Vacation: Kennebunkport

My favorite part of Maine was by far, Kennebunkport! I loved the ocean, shopping and food! 

Adorable downtown was so New England.

One word for Maine: Lobster. I ate my weight in lobster; the traditional lobster roll (with butter!), lobster bisque, lobster nuggets etc... It was amazingly delicious.

Maine is know for its blueberries, and we couldn't leave without a warm slice of blueberry pie...

Shopping for souvenirs... they settle for TShirts with mermaids on them!

There was a huge line to get lobster rolls at The Clam Shack. We have three kids so standing in line wasn't an option, especially when there was only food at the end. LOL.

We drove past the Bush compound in Kennebunkport... It was massive and gorgeous.

After I took this picture of the girls below, it dawned on me how grown up they look and in just a couple weeks I will have two kids in school. NUTS!!

Our day ended at the beach, and the girls ran and played in the sand while little Mr. dipped his toes in the water.

What a fun, memorable vacation! We laughed and made so many sweet memories with the littles. How fortunate we are to spend time relaxing and recharging with the ones you love!!
