*Favorite Foods: Mashed potatoes and gravy, twice baked potatoes, roast beef, steak, any dessert, especially ice cream and double chocolate cookies, broccoli, asparagus. pizza. Dislikes: Cheese, hard carrots.

*Favorite Places to Go: She loves to go to swim at the high school pool, dance class, school, and Bath and Body Store, Children's Place Store, Justice Store, out to eat.
*Best Friends: Archena, Jenevieve, Mackenzie, Lila, Madison. She has tons of friends, and makes them wherever we go!

Lindsay told me she wanted a chocolate raspberry cake for her birthday...I have to admit, it was a deliciously good choice! I think we've been watching too much food network ;)

*Personality: Lindsay is our happy, helpful and easy-going girl. She is a fan of routines, and is enjoying some new found independence. Being the biggest kid in the family, she is a leader and very helpful with Madison and Andrew. When I am busy with Andrew she will put toothpaste on her tooth brush and Madison's, or get a snack or entertain Andrew while I make dinner. She is adored by her younger siblings, and the feeling is mutual (most of the time ;). Lindsay is becoming more opinionated, and sharing her preferences for clothes (loves bright rainbow colors, infinity scarfs, leggings), food (sometimes she just wants a salad instead of nuggets), hair (no bows please, but a side braid) and places we go (I just want to stay home!). Being at school all day makes a kid just want to be home, where she enjoys building forts, baking with Mom & Sis, playing school, writing in her journal, and doing arts and crafts. Lindsay internalizes what she is feeling a lot of the time, and won't necessarily share if something is bothering her. It takes a lot of questions and sometimes a blowup to figure out what going on. We're working on sharing our feelings in a healthy, respectful way... some good skills that will help us in the pre-teen years ;)

*Learning: Wow! Lindsay has been doing fantastic with reading this year! She is reading above first grade level, and enjoys reading books of her choice. I don't think she thinks school is "hard" yet, and hasn't had problems with math, reading, spelling etc. She does her homework quickly without much complaining, and then moves on to something she'd prefer doing... like art or playing with Maddie. I've heard from friends it isn't until 3rd grade that kids begin to feel school gets challenging, so we will be ready! In the meantime I am encouraging her to be a critical thinker, and to look at problems she faces from different perspectives to find a solution.
*Spiritual: Lindsay is a joy to watch as she begins to connect the dots in our faith. There have been many questions about why we believe in God and about the Bible and the stories in it. "Did a fish really swallow Jonah?" or "How can God be Father, Son and Holy Spirit?" It is a wonderful time as a parent to have the opportunity to present the gospel to her and share our own testimonies. We build our faith together as we find answers to her questions, and help her navigate how the Word speaks to the world we live in today. She is beginning her walk with Jesus, and questioning if He really is who he says He is. Her faith is growing with each question, and discovering a relationship of her very own with Him apart from us. I pray through the next year as she seeks Him, that she is convicted of her need for a Savior and will find it in Jesus. "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" Jeremiah 29:13
Our precious daughter, you are joy to us and we love you more than words could say. We are to lucky to be your parents!!
