Three Months

She would not smile for the camera, no matter how many silly faces Mama made! Already a mind of her own... :)

Our sweet girl turned 3 months last week! I am having so much fun being her Mama! She has been growing and changing so quickly this month... I am so excited for the new stages, but a little sad too! Here is an update on what Lindsay's been up to this month:
**Her hair has been growning... it's still a light brown, dark blonde color. Her mullet has receeded, and her 'old man' spot is slowly going away ie more hair is falling out!
**Eyes are still blue.
**She has been giving me a run for my money when it comes to sleep... after my milk supply ran low she was waking up every 2 hrs around the clock to eat. Now that my supply is back, she got used to the habit of waking up... we are working on extending the time between her feedings again so she's not just 'snacking'. I am hoping that she will turn a corner soon! *yawn*
**Lindsay has discovered she can use her hands to put things in her mouth! Previously she would surprise herself when she would catch a hand/finger in her mouth, but now she has some hand/eye coordination! A few days ago she surprised me by reaching and grabbing a toy and bringing it back to her mouth for a taste! This is her favorite toy to munch on...

**Rolling! She has been able to roll on both sides when she is laying on her tummy. She uses one arm and one leg to sort of fall/push over. We have been practicing on rolling from her back to her tummy lately; she can roll to her side, but can't make it all the way over to her tummy (which I am so fine with...no hurry!) She is not a fan of the flash on my camera... hence the deer in the headlight look...sorry Lindsay!
**Drooling... I have been frequently finding my shoulders wet from her slobber..lol. Here is a pic of those baby blues and a little drool for good measure!

**Watching TV.... now, I am definietly NOT a proponet of promoting television by any means, but I have seen her checking out the TV when it is on. I think she enjoys the colors and music... I have been TIVOing Seseame Street and will let her watch a few minutes of the songs- she loves the music... she smiles, coos... I think her favorite character is Elmo.
**Long! She is getting to be so big... her 3 month Carter pajamas are too short! Her little toes are curling in the footsies... we have some 6 months which are way too big, so we have been dressing her in onsies for awhile.
**Big talker! She loves to talk to us in the morning; we can hear her in her crib cooing away. She frequently will say 'goo' in response to something you say to her!
Wow... if you read to the bottom of all this you are a trooper! I didn't mean to write so much, but it's been a big month!

A LONG weekend.. but fun :)

This weekend we went to Bakersfield to celebrate Mother's Day with our Mama's... it was a good weekend, but Lindsay was totally not feeling it! She had several melt-downs and was super dooper tired and cranky..poor girl! The grandparents haven't seen her upset, and they didn't believe their sweet baby grandgirl was ever grumpy... lol. Boy were they in for a reality check!

We took Lindsay to our most favorite restaurant, Sinaloa's... amazing Mexican food! Jarrett and I can't come to Bakersfield without eating there at least once, and went there so frequently the waitresses knew us and what we ordered... lol. It was the first time we went since the baby was born, and she was introduced to a restaurant she will get to know very well as she grows up! Here is our little family... Lindsay had a meltdown shortly after this picture... I at least got to eat some rice and beans and we promptly got our food to go and left right after...lol Sweet Cousins!! Lindsay (left) and Katarina (right) got to get some playtime in when we went over to Grandma Carol's house... Lindsay LOVED her cousin and couldn't take her eyes off of her! Katarina and Lindsay even coordinated their meeting with matching pink and red outfits...lol
Lindsay on the left, Katarina on the right.... I can see they are going to be great friends!
Jarrett and I were exhausted after this trip, and feel like we need another weekend to recover! I am hoping that she has a restful few weeks before we take our trip to Charlotte to visit Auntie Sarah and Cousin Nate!

My 1st Mother's Day

I hope that all you Mother's out there had an sweet day with your family and friends! This year it was my very first Mother's Day (mother of a real baby..not just fur babies:) and it was so memorable. My Mother's Day got started a little early because we were planning on going to Bakersfield to celebrate with our own Mom's (we didn't end up going..more on that later) so Thursday Lindsay sent me this beautiful bouquet of flowers with my favorite color..Pink! It had a really sweet card.. I think Daddy helped :)

Jarrett got me such an amazing, thoughtful gift for my first Mother's Day. It all started last year when we were in London... we had high tea at Harrod's and I got misty-eyed when he mentioned that it would be fun someday to have a tea party with a daughter (little did we know a few months later we would be having one!). There is a tea room in Santa Monica that sells British goods and he got me a gift certificate for a tea for two! Now Lindsay is still too young to go with me yet, but I am looking forward to spending it in the next few months with a friend! He got a basket full of goodies.. biscuits (english cookies), scone mix (yum), three different teas and a cute picture frame and tasty preserves which I sampled on toast on Sunday. He also got me a bottle of my two most favorite Champagnes... party at my house!!
My little bathing beauty... Grammy Kellie bought Lindsay her very first bathing suit from Janie & Jack with a matching hat. It's a little big... but not much and perfect for her to grow into this summer! The pretty blue matches her big blue eyes :) Can't wait to spend the summer in Grandpa's pool!

New chair.... Bumbo! She is not quite sure what to think about her new chair... she is working so hard on sitting up... she tries so hard to grab her feet...it helps that there are bumble-bees on her toes!

Other news... we stayed home this Mother's Day because Thursday afternoon I came down with Mastitis, an infection in a breast milk duct (sorry TMI). I thought that I would be fine by Friday in time to go to Bakersfield, but I didn't realize how sick I really was. My milk supply ran really low and I ran a really high fever for two days (which I think was almost worse than the pain) and have been taking a antibiotic since Friday... its getting better, but not as fast as I would like. I am so grateful for my sweet husband for taking care of TWO babies all weekend... ME (especially when I'm sick lol) and Lindsay (a real baby :) Thank you family and sweet friends for the calls/texts... you made my 1st Mother's day so special!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin....

Yesterday afternoon Lindsay rolled over from her tummy to her back! She has been practicing pushing up on her tummy with her arms and legs... she was pushing up and leaning to her left and just happened to get some traction and kind of leaned-rolled over onto her back. She didn't look really too surprised, but she was a little perplexed and immediately began checking out the new view of the ceiling. Mama of course started clapping and that did surprise her... she looked at me like, "What's the big deal?" lol... I ran to get the video camera and capture it again... but no such luck. I am going to keep trying so I can post it! It is insane to think she has the possiblity to be mobile... I have to watch her like a hawk when she is on her changer!

She has also been extremely active... when those arms and legs get to movin', look out! She will kick/hit anything near her, and it's hilarious when her crazy arms get going, she frequently hits herself. She has this look like, "Where did that come from?" lol... Lately she has been kicking her play-yard over and it falls on top of her... don't worry Grandparents- it is soft! She smiles a goofy really big gummy smile! I have tried positioning it in different ways to avoid it falling, but it never fails, she finds a way to kick/bat it over!
