Fifteen Months

Mmmm...Nutella!

Wow! It's been awhile since I've posted a stats update for Lindsay. So far, one is a great age. She is so much fun, and her little personality is just blossoming.

*Lindsay's hair has been growing...I can put a clip in it, and sometimes she will even leave it in for more than 5 minutes.

*Teeth.....Whoa! My child has 8 teeth: Top 4, Bottom 3, plus 1 1/2 molars, and she is working on 3 more! It went from 0 to 4 pretty quick.

*She is sleeping 11 hours, from 7:30 pm to 6:30-7:00 am.... all night! Whoo Hoo! She is still taking 2, 1 1/2 hour naps per day.

*Big eater... Lindsay has always enjoyed eating, but she really wasn't all that excited about it. Lately, she has been eating a TON, and liking just about everything, with the exception of eggs and pancakes. These are some of her favorite meals: Grilled Turkey & Cheese Sandwich, Tiny Ravioli's with Tomato Sauce, Potato Casserole, Green Beans, Bean & Cheese Quesadillas, Mac & Cheese, Blueberries, Watermelon, Strawberries etc.... We also discovered she loves onion dip.... taking after her Reid side of the family!

*Lindsay is officially a walker, and enjoys taking walks around the courtyard. She likes to be chased, particularly near bath time. Streaking down the hallway is a nightly part of her routine.

*She is still an avid reader; some of her favorite books are: "Good Night Moon", "A Cuddle for Little Duck", any peekaboo flap books, and "Cookie Monster has to Wait". We have been going to story time at the park across from Pepperdine and she has so much fun. They sing songs, read stories and play games. Her attention span is ok for a couple books, but being around the older kids is so great for her.

*Lindsay loves her baby. She pretend feeds her baby a bottle and sippy cup, and shows her baby love with a hug and a pat on the back! She always says, "Awwww" when she gives hugs.

*Dancin' Fool.... my girl LOVES to dance. Anywhere. Anytime. She hears a tune, or a beat for that matter, and her little body starts to wiggle!

*Big Talker Betty Crocker.... She speaks a language we do not understand, but it is peppered with words that we can recognize. She is constantly adding new words to her vocabulary, and her favorite is to point and say, "Whaz Tat?" (What's That?). Last night I overheard her in the bath practicing "Bub Bub" or "Bubbles".

Funny things our 15 month old does:

*Lift up your shirt, poke your belly button and wait for you to laugh.

*Give slobbery kisses.

*While reading any story with any food, say "MMMMmmm Nom Nom." ex. Every night when we read "Goodnight Moon", we turn the page to "Goodnight mush" I hear "Mmmm Nom Nom"!

*Try on any one's "Shoooozzz" (shoes) lying around.

*Biting her crib rails... grrrr. Not so funny.

More photos to come!

Farewell Becca

We had a lovely luncheon this afternoon honoring Becca, and wishing her farewell as she and the Fitzpatrick clan move to Fort Worth, Texas. Becca & Thomas arrived at Pepperdine shortly before Jarrett and I, and it has been so much fun becoming friends. We have gotten to share birthdays, pregnancies and baby girls... I am so excited for the new chapter in their lives and can't wait to see how God uses them for His glory! We are going to miss you! Becca, Kim & Marianne. Thank you Kim & Corleen for hosting!

The Tuesday CBS Lunch Crew! Becca is the most amazing hostess- every Tuesday after CBS we would flood her house with kids, and she most graciously fed us lunch and us ladies talked while the kiddos played. We wanted to get a picture with all kids... Take 1:

Take 2.... A success!

We'll miss you Fitzpatrick Family!

Mother's Day 2011

Happy Mother's Day! We had a wonderful one, spent with our Mom's in Bakersfield. What is Lindsay laughing at? Grammie Kellie being silly! We made her a stepping stone with her hand prints for the backyard of her new house.

Sisters :) I was overwhelmed by all the sweet gifts I got... scarfs, bracelets, gift cards, recipe book, massage...Wow! This Mama business pays off... LOL.

We stayed at Nonna & Grandpa Jerry's house this trip, and Lindsay had fun swinging and playing in the new water table. Cutest little Rainbow Bootie I have ever seen... The sweet reason I get to celebrate Mother's Day... I love being a Mama!

Royal Wedding

as much of the world is excited about the Royal Wedding of Kate & William, the Fisher household was a buzz today preparing for the TV viewing tomorrow when we wake up. (Hey- Now that our kid finally sleeps through the night, there is NO WAY I am going to stay up all night to watch it live) The English Tea is waiting, and I just finished taking out my Blueberry Lemon Scones out of the oven, and making my Cucumber Tea Sandwiches. YUM! While my house smells so delicious, I thought I would write a post, mainly to keep me from sampling the goodies.

I got to thinking about the past few months of studying the Book of Revelation with CBS http://communitybiblestudy.org/ and one of our memory verses kept popping into my head:
PS. If you have never heard of CBS, it is a wonderful bible study class where I have met so many sweet ladies... they are all over find one near you!

"Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready." Rev. 19:7

As a former bride, I can attest that there is a LOT one does to get ready for her husband-to-be. I can only guess at the things Ms. Middleton is doing to prepare herself for the big day. Hair. Makeup. Waxing (ouch!). Nails. Skin. Etc... and after we are done, we look and feel like the most beautiful thing on the planet. On the day we meet Jesus, we will be made beautiful outside and more importantly, on the inside too. Through His love, we will be transformed from the inside out, and we will be the most beautiful thing He ever saw.

"Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.) Rev. 19:8

There is so much speculation on Kate's wedding dress. What will it look like? Who will design it?

As Christians we know our wedding dress will be unimaginably beautiful; more stunning than any earthy dress, because it will be woven with every precious thread of our righteous acts (19:8) and bright white with mercy. And our dress will fit us perfectly, because our master designer is God.

This morning when I was watching the Today Show, one can't help but admire the pageantry of the English royalty- it is legendary. Jewel encrusted carriages, and glittering tiaras, and shiny silver armor of soldiers on horseback. Sigh. I could go on and on. We love the sparkle. I think God knew that, because when he created the Holy City, he pulled out all the stops and used the finest materials.

"Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb. And he carried me away in Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like jasper, clear as crystal. " Rev. 21:9-11

As Christians we have a invitation to THE Royal Wedding of all time. All we have to do is say "I do". My prayer is that you say "Yes" to Jesus today in your heart :)

Easter 2011

Happy Easter to Everyone! This was a sweet holiday weekend, spent with the ones we love. We had a lot to celebrate, besides Jesus's Resurrection. Lindsay was a walkin' fool, practicing at all of her Grandparent's houses. Grammie Kellie & Great Grandma Rose bought a new house. Aunt Annie graduated from EMT school and Uncle Matt passed his truck driver license permit test. Grandpa Rich sold his house, and Nonna & Grandpa Jerry got a cool swingset! Whew, that's a lot of celebrating :) Plus, Mama got a new camera.... here are some pictures of our fun-filled weekend: Smelling the flowers

All the ladies after Easter service

Daddy & his Easter Bunny

Happy Easter 2011! Love, The Fishers

The Easter Bunny came not once, not twice, but 4 times for Miss Lulu... She would not look up for a picture- she was all about the basket. Grammie Kellie got her a little bunny that sang "Jesus Loves Me" and Nonna got some super cute dresses.

Grandpa Rich showing how to be gentle with the puppies..

New Swing Set!! Lindsay and Kat were the first to check out Nonna & Grandpa Jerry's new swing set! It was so cute that they got 2 swings so the cousins can swing together! Here is Kat trying one of them out. I can see many hours of fun out in the backyard in the coming years!

Uncle Matt made this rocking horse in woodshop in high school. Lindsay got to take it for a test ride. It was fun!

Grandpa Rich filled Lindsay's eggs with Puffs and all of her favorite Gerber snacks...she loved it! Lindsay liked the Easter egg hunt this year, and took the opportunity to 'hide' eggs in Uncle Matt's shoe. I hope she didn't eat what was inside of that egg. Stinky!

This photo is a little dark, but she was LOVING the puppies... Thank you to all of our families who hosted us this weekend as we bounced around. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Walking to Daddy

Just a quick clip of our sweet girl taking some steps... to Daddy using the TV remote control as 'motivation'. FYI: she is not allowed to play with it, so it is pretty tantalizing.

Lindsay has been working up the courage to push off from cruising around furniture and people, and tonight I was finally able to capture it! She took her first steps about a month ago, two tiny steps to her Daddy, of course :) It is amazing to see the progress she has made since then, and will continue to make when she decides to make walking her #1 mode of transportation, instead of speed crawling.

Friend with Benefits

What a lucky girl am I! This past fall I met the Stacy McNeal, who had just recently moved to Pepperdine with her husband who teaches at the law school. After I met her, I knew we'd be friends :) She is also expecting her first baby, a sweet boy, in May. Besides making Lindsay laugh and hosting fabulous sushi-making parties, I discovered another one of her many talents.... Photography! Here are a few shots she just happened to casually shoot when we went to the beach last week.... she can make even an ordinary day look so precious!

Such a talented and beautiful friend inside and out (Stacy-I know you are rolling your eyes at the beautiful part because you are 8 months prego- but hey, you are gorgeous!!). Maybe she can freelance as a photographer here in Malibu? Thank you again sweet friend!!
