Surviving a Blizzard, Fisher Style

Last weekend we had our first ever East Coast Blizzard! Here's our weekend snowed in...literally! Thank you to all our friends and family who checked in on us, we thankfully didn't lose power and stayed nice and cozy! What do you do with 3 kids all weekend inside?...

1. Bake a cake and have a Frozen Tea Party. This activity alone took up 2 hours.

My almost 4 year old girl ;)

She was pretty serious about creating her cake... been watch kids Baking Challenge on Food Network.

Mmmmm real tea!
 2. Get plenty of snuggles from this little man.

He turned 4 months on Monday...time flies!
 3. Periodically open the front door to see how high the snow is getting. This was only 1/2 way into Saturday. We got a total of 24 + inches when all was said and done.

Winter Wonderland
 4. Begin to strategise whether to dust the cars off before or after you shovel yourself to them....
 5. PLAY IN THE POWDER!!

All bundled up ready to go! It took us 15 minutes to get them bundled to go outside. Not too bad!

Maddie was outside for 5 minutes before losing a glove and she was over it. LOL
 6. Neighbors think we force our kids to perform child labor digging us out of the snow..

Look Mama! Snow is taller than me!!
 7. Enjoy some hot cocoa with marsh mellows!!

Winter's First Snow

It finally snowed here last Saturday, our first snow of the season! As I am typing this, we are suppose to be getting 12+ inches this weekend... winter's here at last! I like the snow, it gives me a reason to make hot cocoa with marshmallows.
Andy B's first snow!

Girls were SUPER excited and did some sledding!
My friend gave me this adorable bunting suit for winter and I was so excited to put Drew in it. Andrew was not a fan, mainly because it was 3 months, and our big boy is in the 6 month size. I squeezed him in just like the Mom in Christmas Story... he couldn't put his arms down either. LOL.
Little Mr. wasn't a fan of his bunting suit, otherwise enjoyed seeing the white stuff!

Happy Birthday to me, putting my new boots and jacket to good use!

Andrew Brooks, 3 months

Andrew turned 3 months on Christmas Day, but I am just getting around to blogging about it!
Andrew Brooks, 3 months old
Stats: 24.75 inches long
    13 lbs 12.5 oz
     Diaper size: 2
               Clothes: 6-9 months

* Eating: This month I left Andy with Daddy and Sisters while I went to a Dr.s appointment and they gave him his first bottle! He wasn't really hungry, and just chewed on it mostly, but his sisters were SO excited to feed their life-size baby doll. LOL.

He breastfeeds every 3 hours, and more in the evening. He's a gassy little guy, and we call him our "Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy".
We'll try again when  he's hungry. LOL
*Sleeping: Andrew will be awake for around 2 hours before he needs to take a nap. He's still napping in the swing during the day, and this month I am going to work hard to transition him to his crib. He goes to bed in his crib around 6:45pm/7pm and will wake up around 12:30am and 4:30am (yuck) before he is ready to get up for the day around 5:45 or 6am. He's all smiles and coo's in the morning and ready to play!
*Hair: It's been growing in on the sides and back, but is mostly a light brown and blondish.
*Eyes: Blue
Cutest Little Trapper Hat... it's been COLD here!
*Likes: Bathtime, his Play Yard (see below), when his Sisters talk to him or play with him, Tummy Time (sometimes), Cooing, he loves to interact with people who talk to him (ladies at church always get big smiles!),Standing on laps, putting his hands in his mouth, grabbing his burp rags and putting them in his mouth and being held outwards so he can look around!
Loves to use both hand to grab his dangling toys, but get frustrated when he can't bring them to his mouth. LOL.

Happy Boy LOVES his bathtime! He thinks it's pretty cool  to suck on the wet wash rags.
*Dislikes: Sitting in his car seat waiting for Lindsay after school, his pacifier, being over-tired and having his routine changed. Hates being hot, and will get sweaty and fussy!

Right before bed time tired stare.
* New Discoveries: Andy has discovered how to get things to his mouth and will put just about anything in his mouth. He's practicing grasping, and he will look intently as he grabs an object and concentrates on bringing it to his mouth. When he finally gets his slobbery mouth on it, you can see a big proud smile :)  He's been close to rolling, but not yet. He is trying really hard to sit up, and does mini-crunches to get to a sitting pose with Mama's help! Baby Boy chuckled for the first time when Daddy was tickling his tummy before a bath and it was adorable ;)

Playtime with my Sister's is the best!

We love you Andy B! You bring us joy every day with your sweet smiles, coos and chuckles!

Christmas 2015

Merry Christmas! We had a joyful Christmas celebrating all the blessings of this year, especially Andrew's 1st Christmas!
The girls and I made sugar cookies a few days before and they left out a reindeer shaped cookie, carrots and milk for Santa, along with a few "letters" to Santa.
Andy fit right in reading, "The Night Before Christmas" and "The Christmas Story" on Daddy's lap.
As soon as the kids went to bed, Santa came with some really special gifts this year: BIKES! Yay!
Santa opened the letters from Lindsay and they had some great illustrations. She has been working so hard in Kindergarten on writing sentences and journaling!

Precious.
Here are the girls running down the stairs on Christmas morning... Enjoy!

Madison and the Sophia Bike

Lindsay and her Sweetheart Bike... Jarrett put the basket on to hold her teddy's!
Mama helped Lindsay read a letter Santa wrote back to her....LOL.
This year Lindsay got a ton of art supply and crafting stuff... she was busy and in crafting heaven all of winter break!
This year Madison continued with her pony obsession, new cowgirl boots and mixed it up with some veterinarian check up sets!
Pony Surprise really surprised her!
Sweet Andy B woke up and was all smiles and coos on his 1st Christmas morning! Santa brought him some fun noise making toy instruments and teethers! He loved watching the girls open gifts and was interested in the wrapping paper.

Look at that sweet face...Adorable!
Daddy took the girls in the afternoon to try out their new bikes and skates in the flat parking lot of the church nearby.
Skating Cuties
Mama loved her Christmas gift... a new vacuum! I know it isn't the most festive of gifts, but oh did my heart leap for joy the first time I vacuumed the playroom rug. I emptied an entire container of filth. Yuck!  I also got a pancake griddle and some fabulous gift cards, and Jarrett got a few gifts from Brookstone and dress socks/tie from the kids! Thanks Family!
"Mama our rug feels fluffy again, Yay!" LOL.
May Christ be magnified in 2016!!
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.”Psalms 34:3

Christmas Time Fun

We've been busy this Christmas time! I'm finally getting around to doing some blogging, and trying to catch up on all the fun we've had this month. We continued a few traditions, and tried out some new ones. The first week of December we went to drive-through light display, Shadybrook Farms in Pennsylvania. Andrew slept the whole ride, and made our experience a "silent night". LOL. The girls were super excited to go this year, because they could really see well in our new minivan! Never did I think I would be thrilled to be driving a minivan, but after trying to buckle 3 kids in car seats in the backseat of a Camry. we quickly realized the space was SO needed. Hooray for Jarrett surprising me with this Christmas gift early!
The Mom Ride.
The girls and I tried our hand at candy making this year for our neighborhood gifts. We made Peanut Butter Buckeyes, Mexican Wedding Cookies aka Snowballs and Graham Cracker Toffee. Rolling all the peanut butter balls was tedious... I think it will be the first and last time we do it (at least till the girls can help out more..LOL). My neighbor texted me later that night they enjoyed their Christmas treats!
Yum! Peanut Butter Candy!
Santa came once again to our neighborhood in the fire truck and Daddy and the girls ran outside fast to greet him! Maddie was in such a hurry she forgot to put her arms through the inner lining of her jacket... she was rocking a duck tail. LOL.
"I know him! I know him!" (sorry, couldn't resist an Elf reference)

"SANTA!! "

Candy Canes from Santa's Helper

Andrew in his cute Christmas outfit from Nonna! Thanks!
This was the second year we went to our church's Christmas Party, and the girls had fun decorating a family Gingerbread House! In addition to gingerbread house making, the kids at church did their first ever pageant. It was cute, and maybe next year the girls will be interested in participating ;)

We wish all our friends and family out there a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Madison's CBS Christmas Performance

At our last Community Bible Study meeting of 2015 the kids do a Christmas Concert where they recite their memory verses and sing a song, followed by a cookies and punch reception. This year Madison's class rang bells to a Christmas song and she took it very seriously and did a fantastic job! Also, this was the first year our Maddie Grace wasn't shy... she belted her verses out and rang her bell with enthusiasm ;) At the end she asks me in a typical Madison fashion, "Mama, after this can I have a cookie?!" LOL. Please excuse my awful singing at the beginning of the video (thankfully it doesn't last long) and the grunts of Andrew, whom I am pushing the stroller while trying to video tape Maddie. Multi-tasking at its best. Enjoy!

Great Job Maddie Grace! We are so proud of you Precious Girl and love watching your relationship with the Lord grow each year!
