Two Months...Oh My!

Two Months! Oh how time flys!! I can hardly believe our sweet girl was born two months ago.. newborn no more! We went to the Dr. on Monday and here is where we are:
** 11 lbs, 7 oz 50-75th percentile
** 24 inches long 90th percentile... This is shocking because Jarrett and I are not tall people..lol
** Lindsay's personality has just been shining through these past few weeks and we have been seeing her smile, and respond with cooing when we talk to her. We have heard the begininng of a chuckle and are looking forward to that in month 3!
** Lindsay has been giving Mama and Daddy some pretty good sleep... she goes to bed around 7pm and wakes up at 2am and 6am for feeding (on good nights)... not too shabby!
** Her eyes are still blue... the Dr. thinks they are probably going to stay that way!
** She lost her baby hair this past month and was rocking a mini-mullett for awhile..lol. Now it is growing better on top, however, she still looks like a little old man hair-wise from behind! Her haircolor is a really light brown or dark blonde color...
** Her eyebrows are finally coming in too..
**Lindsay loves bathtime with Daddy at night
**During the daytime she enjoys hanging out in her swing that Grandpa got her... she likes the mobile and music!
** She has been doing so great with Tummy Time and really gaining control over her head and neck! It won't be much longer before she is a pro!

Our sweet happy girl...

Sniff Sniff... Mama packed away her newborn clothes this week... there were a few tears.. but I am looking forward to the next phases!

Before bedtime Daddy reads Lindsay a story. She really tries to focus on the pictures and their colors, and of course, Dad always makes funny noises to go with the story... very entertaining!

At the Dr.'s office she got her first shots (gulp!). She got 2 in one leg (you can see the band-aids above :( and one in the other leg. She was a very brave girl and didn't cry too much... Mama also cried a few tears in sympathy... Tuesday she was back to her happy self, smiling and cooing in her crib when I came in to get her in the morning.
What a blessing this sweet girl has been!! We we can't imagine our lives without her, and love her more and more everyday!

Happy Easter

Easter Bunny (aka Daddy) came to visit Lindsay on her first Easter... he brought her a some Easter videos, books and candy (Mom will help with that :)

Lindsay wearing her "Grandpa's Girl" onsie hanging out with Grandpa Rich on her first trip to Bakersfield! Lindsay got to meet her furry siblings, Jackson and Roxy! Jackson was a very concerned doggie... whenever she would make a peep, he would stand on his hind legs and let us know! Roxy had fun sniffing her and we had to keep them from licking her to death!
Mama and Lindsay in Great Grandma's backyard... Lindsay posing in her Easter Dress...What a little lady crossing her legs..lol
Lindsay getting some snuggle time in with her Great Grandma Rosie!

Daddy and his little Easter Girl... Lunch at Mexicali with Grandpa Jerry and Grandma Carol!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
This Easter was an emotional one for me as a new Mom! As I think about the incredible love God has for us that he sacrificed his only precious, perfect child it is overwhelming the powerful love that He felt for me (sin and all!). Being a parent and loving your child so much gives you a new sense of the loss and powerful love Jesus has for us. Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter and hope that the 'Easter Feeling' lasts through the year!
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead... 1Peter 1:3

This afternoon after a nap Miss Lindsay was all smiles... it made Mama & Daddy's hearts melt! Mama was being silly and making faces/sounds and she found one she thought was hilarious... We were so lucky Daddy got to see it and capture in photos!

One Month Old!!

One month ago our lives changed forever when our sweet baby girl was born! She has been such a blessing and joy!! We are so excited to watch her grow, and delight in the privilege of being her parents. Her little personality is slowly coming out, and we can definitely say we have a really good baby!
**She's been sleeping in her big girl crib since she was 7 days old... she really loves it! Mama and Daddy have a monitor to keep an eye/ear on her, but she lets us sleep some nights for 4 hrs in a row!

**Lindsay girl has been 'talking' and making more and more noises. The other morning I heard sounds from our monitor and she was smiling and cooing, looking at the stripes on her bumper. Jarrett's an early bird, and I think she takes after him!

**Lindsay took her first breast milk bottle (yay!) this week! Daddy gave her the bottle in the rocking chair and she ate 3 oz, followed by some good burps! We were thrilled she took the bottle without a fuss, which is wonderful for when Jarrett & I want to go to dinner or a movie and get a babysitter!

**Lindsay has been making eye contact and smiling (I know they say it's just gas bubbles, but it still melts my heart :) She has a dimple on the left side of her cheek, and its precious! I look forward to seeing it more as she gets older!

**ROLLS! She is eating every 2-3 hours, sometimes 3-4 hrs at night (only a couple times). She's been eating good, and she had rolls on her arms, legs and an adorable double chin!

**Look I found my tongue! Just in the past few days, she has been sticking her tongue out at Mama and Daddy... and she is surprised when she gets a hold of her hand in her mouth!

On another note...I absolutely LOVE being a Mother! Sometimes I just stare at her and think, "Wow! I can't believe how unbelievably blessed I am!" I just want to squeeze her- but I refrain..lol. They say you don't know how much you can love something until you become a parent, and I can say that I agree. It really puts it in perspective the unconditional love Christ has for us, His precious children. Thank you to all our family and friends for their prayers and love! Lindsay is one lucky girl to have so many people who love her!
