Daddy Maddie Date

A couple weekends ago Lindsay had a evening birthday party to go to so Daddy and Maddie had a date night! Madison carefully picked out what she wanted to wear her on her special Daddy Date: her aqua skirt and birdie shirt! First, they went to the tree house park...

Someone was feeling pretty sassy and brave with Daddy nearby on the playground! She told us when she got home, "I went down the tube slide ALL BY MYSELF!"

Next they went to Madison's favorite spot to eat: IHOP! Madison got banana and strawberry pancakes, and proceded to "share" Daddy's dinner or rather eat all the sausage off his plate. I have no idea where she would learn such behavior. LOL.

Madison LOVED her one-on-one time alone with Daddy, and is still talking about it, weeks and weeks later. Such sweet, special memories, and made her feel so special ;) Daddy loves his Maddie Girl!!

Lindsay's Preschool Graduation

We were riding the graduation celebration train this year, with Jarrett graduating in May, then Lindsay graduating from Preschool in June. Our big girl had her own ceremony where we took a few videos... enjoy!

The hats were so cute and made me giggle, and she was proud walking into the gym with her hands on her hips...so serious! I heard the music and let a couple tears escape (thankfully I could blame it on being pregnant) and envisioned hearing the same music in 13 years... sniff sniff. It is going by way too fast.  

Her class sang a few songs from the year, and had a cute slide show of photos from a field trip to the farm and daily fun stuff: "L" Luau Day, "P" Pajama Day etc...

I love watching her carefully walk down the steps to shake the principals hand, take her goody bag then merrily skip along. It is so our breezy, sweet Lulu.

Congratulations Lindsay Diane on graduating from Pre-School! We are so proud of you and all the hard work you did this year! We know you will do fantastic in Kindergarten in the fall!

Kindergarten Orientation

Last Thursday was Lindsay's Kindergarten Orientation at her new school, Ben Franklin Elementary. She was excited, and a little nervous. Most of the kids she attended Pre-K with are continuing on to St. Ann's elementary, and she was a little sad to be leaving them! She held my hand tight at first, but about halfway through, she loosened the grip and began to explore! The school is literally less than a mile from our house, and we frequently play on the playground on the weekends so it won't be so scary in the fall ;)  There were four kindergarten teacher's rooms we toured, although we aren't sure which one she'll have until August.

Lindsay's favorite teacher was Mrs. Kriszak, and we found out later she lives around the corner from us. She has the sweetest disposition, very calming but enthusiastic; you can tell she loves her job ;) Fingers crossed we get her, but I know all the teachers are great!

Mrs. K told the kids, "Shhh! My puppy gets scared when kids all try to talk at once" (genius!). Lindsay, who loves stuffed animals of all kinds knew immediately she adored her LOL.

The read a cute story and Lindsay sat quietly next to her, listening and raising her hand. So proud she used her classroom manners :)

After the story the kids drew a picture of themselves and colored it. Lindsay proudly wrote her name at the top with a capital "L" and lowercase "indsay" with confidence. 

I am so proud of my big girl, I can't believe she will be in Kindergarten this fall. The day is coming soon where all the work we've done the past few years to prepare her to for her first steps of independence will be put to good use. This Mama's sending her baby girl out with a smile, a tear (carefully hidden of course) and covered in prayers!  Love you Lindsay Loo! xo

Auntie's Babyshower

After Graduation and Disneyland, we took Jarrett to the airport (poor guy had to go back to work ;() we headed back to Bakersfield to co-host Auntie Annie's shower for baby Sawyer! Here are a few pics of her sweet shower...

So much fun being prego sisters together! Let's just say there might have been an emergency 9pm trip to Rosemary's on this visit. LOL.

Congrats Auntie Annie & Josh! We are so thrilled for you both and can't wait to meet our new niece, Sawyer Violet! She's going to be gorgeous! Love you! xo

Disneyland 2015

The day after Jarrett graduated, we surprised the girls and Grammie took our family to Disneyland! Lindsay has been once before when she was about 18 months, and Madison has been in my belly ;) This was Madison's first official visit, and she was beyond excited. We stayed the night at the Disneyland Hotel, visited both Disneyland and California Adventure and had a fun character breakfast! Here are some fun pics of our stay...

The girls and J took a dip in the pool/spa at the hotel... the water was warm!! 

I don't know who was more excited for the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique, Grammie or the girls?! I had never heard of it until Grammie explained it was a salon at the park where they make the girls into princesses for the day with a fancy hairdo, nail polish and make up!

Madison wasn't too sure about it at first...

After they were all decked out, Madison decided she liked it ;) Although, she was just fine with her princess sash and opted not to wear a princess dress. LOL.

They had a photo session where they got to sit in a real Cinderella carriage... so cool!!

After our princesses were done at the salon, we headed over to the Submarine Ride. They were on the hunt for mermaids, but didn't find any until we visited CA Adventure later in the day. We enjoyed riding It's a Small World and the Monorail back to the hotel for some much needed power nap to get through the rest of the day.

All rested up we visited California Adventure and the girls were so excited to ride the The Little Mermaid with Grammie.

As it was getting dark the girls rode Dumbo and the Tea Cups! 

Our resident daredevil, Madison, talked Grammie into riding the LadyBug spinner ride with her. We were giggling at how she kept yelling to Grammie, "Let's go faster!!" So Maddie Grace. LOL.

We made it back to the park in time to see the firework show from the comfort of our hotel room. I didn't get any pictures of the actual show, but above our beds in the hotel room there was a cool LED display that played music and had 'fireworks'! We had our own firework show about 10 times!

The next morning we woke up early and had a yummy breakfast at Goofy's Cafe. The girls were thrilled to see the characters walking around and stopping by the tables to shake hands and give hugs or high fives.

What a fun trip!! Thank you Grammie, I know the girls will remember (and talk about for a long time) the special memories we made at Disneyland! We'll have to do it again in a few years when  the next round of Grand kids are old enough LOL. Love you!!

Jarrett's Doctoral Graduation

Whoo Hoo! Graduation time finally arrived it was a gorgeous day overlooking the Pacific Ocean at our old home-sweet-home, Pepperdine! It was a blast hanging out with the extended family as we celebrated Jarrett's huge accomplishment.

It was a warm and bright day, and these cousins had a blast entertaining each other during the ceremony.

There it is!! The "book" as we fondly have been referring to it.. 200+ pages of  APA formatted goodness.

The shots I got of the actual hooding process were blocked, but heard later that President Benton remembered working with him a few years back and gave Jarrett a big hug and said "Welcome Back, Congratulations Dr. Fisher!"

The girls made a beeline straight for their Daddy after the ceremony, and we got pictures with the family who have encouraged and cheered him along through this journey.

After the ceremony the family went up to the Sandbar Patio where the views are fantastic to hang out and eat Chipotle that Jerry & Carol catered.. YUM!

Wow! I can't believe it's finally done. I am in awe of the YEARS of dedication, endless requirements and hurdles you went through to achieve the goal of becoming Dr. Fisher. Your humble character, attention to detail and integrity are traits I deeply respect, and shine through in your writing and work. Thank you for working so hard for our family and our futures! As your wife, prayer warrior and best friend it has been an honor to walk with you through the highs and lows of this journey. My own faith has grown stronger year by year as I've witnessed countless prayers answered and doors opened in ways only our mighty God can do. I am so, so proud of you and can only imagine the ways you will use your many gifts to bring glory to our King. I love you always, K xo
