Morris Family NJ Visit

The Morris Family came for a quick summertime visit last weekend! It was Sarah (Jarrett's sister) and the kids 2nd time visiting us in NJ (last time was at New Year's with Nonna), but it was Peter's first time. The cousins had a blast playing together, although we missed Aunt Katie Diane & Cousin Katarina in California :) The Morris family drove 13 hours from Gastonia, NC through Washington DC traffic on a Friday... they must sure love us..lol. After they got in late Friday night we all went to sleep and woke up ready to hang out!
Nate and his shadow, Lindsay
There was a ton of delicious food, thanks in part to Peter's culinary training and bravery to cook for a vegan and gluten-free crowd! He made us all dinner, and Jarrett introduced him to Halo Pub Ice cream. Megan, Sarah's friend from college who lives in Hoboken, NJ drove down for the day to hang out with us old married w/children folks. We ordered pizza and let the kiddos play outside!

Crazy Girls!! Madison (18 mo) Lindsay (3.5 yr) Amelia (19 mo)
One crowded playhouse... not sure how much longer all our littles will be able to fit all together inside!

When you visit the Fishers, you know there will be ice cream. Most Definitely.

Family Style Dinners
After ice cream and dinner, the kiddos had fun playing in the bath tub. I am not sure how clean they actually got, but it made for fun memories.

We got a few comments about how these two looked like siblings :) Lindsay will sometimes tell me Nate is her brother..lol.
Uncle Peter read "Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet" to the kiddos before bed time.

On Sunday we went into Princeton and had lunch and walked around Princeton University. Jarrett gave Peter a private tour and Sarah, the kids and I all went to the children's library and window shopping.
Cousin Love!
Monday we drove to the shore to walk the boardwalk and eat lunch. It was super busy, and I still cannot get over that you have to pay to get on the beach... in addition to parking. Crazy! I guess I am a spoiled California girl!

We had so much fun with the Morris Family, we will miss the impromptu dance parties, yummy dinners and fun cousin times! Looking forward to hanging out again soon!! Love you! xo

  1. Popcorn on a string, come on Aunt Katie - do your thing!

It was 14.5 hours there, 11 hours back. Stupid DC traffic!

I'm pretty sure Mia will be taller than Lindsay in about 6 months. ;)
