BFF Visit

My very bestest girlfriend Debra, and her son, Thor came for a visit the weekend before Easter! We toured Princeton, NYC and took the kiddies to see Zootopia all while enjoying lots of laughs and great conversations. Our precious friendship is a gift that spans years (29 to be exact!), miles (she lives in Nevada) and life's up's and down's, and yet when we get together, it's as if we lived next door ;) I wanted to post some pictures of us through the years but realized most of the photos I have are pre-digital camera days. Maybe that is a good thing. LOL.
Thor 7 years, and Madison  4 years
After I picked them up from the airport on Friday morning we took a quick tour through Princeton by a handsome tour guide *wink* :)

Debra got her fill of baby snuggles from Andrew

Love my sweet friend
We went to NYC on Saturday with Thor and were going to take Lindsay but she came down with a nasty cold. A huge thank you to Jarrett for watching Maddie, sick Lulu and Andrew all day Saturday so we could go into the city. I was a little nervous about leaving Andrew for so long (8 hrs and had to bring my pump), but he was the perfect angel for his Daddy!
Deb & Lindsay
We did the tourist thing and fit as many big sights in on their day in the city. We visited the Empire State Building and took pictures on the top...

Radio City Music Hall... I think Deb and I wanted to be Rockettes for at least a year of our lives. LOL. We also cruised around 5th Avenue, Central Park, Rockefeller Plaza and the Museum of Natural History!

Thor loved riding the train into Penn Station :)

All the kids got along great, and had fun playing together and being silly! Here's a blast from the past...
Then: Baby Lindsay & Baby Thor
Side Note: Do Andy & Lindsay look like twins or what?!
Now: Big Kids Lindsay & Thor
We took all the kids on Sunday to see Zootopia, and were cracking up right along with them ;)

Later Sunday evening after we put the kids to bed, we went to Triumph Brewery in Princeton and had a glass of wine and shared a yummy dessert. Love you Sweet Bestie! Can't wait to do it again, next time I'm coming your way! xoxo

Andrew Brooks, 5 months

Our Little Mr. is five months, and boy has he been busy!
Andrew Brooks, 5 months
Stats: (haven't gone to the pediatrician this month, so it's an estimate)
height 25.25 inches?
weight 15 lbs?
clothes 6-9 months
diapers: size 3
teeth: 2, bottom front
hair: blonde
eyes: blue

*Eating: He is still breast feeding 8x per day or more. Lots of comfort nursing because of teething. Andy tried solids this month! I was going to wait until 6 months, but he has begun chewing and trying to swipe food off our plates, so I thought we'd give it a try.

*Sleep: Cat naps through the day.. usually does a morning nap about 3 hours after waking up usually 9am and then again in the afternoon around 12pm; sometimes there's a cat-nap around dinner time. He sleeps in his car seat running errands, the swing in the kitchen or his crib (I need to be better about this). He goes to bed at 7pm, wakes up around 2am and goes back to bed after a feeding. Wakes up for the day around 6am, a happy cooing little guy.

*Likes: Foods: Pears, Sweet Potatoes, Apples and sippy with water. Big Sister's playing with him and telling him jokes... he laughs hysterically with them. Rolling onto his tummy, drooling, chewing on toys, shaking rattle toys, passing toys from one hand to the other, tickles anywhere (super dooper ticklish like Madison). Loves bath time and sucking on the wash rag.

*Dislikes: Foods: Peas, Bananas, Green Beans, plain oatmeal. Tolerates Butternut Squash mixed with pears. Pick up time in his car seat. He not moving when he's in his car seat. Naps in his crib. Being by himself or when it's too quiet. Teething. Poopy diapers.

*Personality: Drew is just the SWEETEST baby boy. He is a chill, laid-back dude. Loves to be in the middle of it all, observing the chaos. Loves attention from anyone and gives big, gummy smiles and coos. He was a little fussy one day and had a temperature, and I was shocked to discover he had his first tooth!! A couple weeks later, the one next to it broke through. Now, both girls didn't get teeth until much later and with lots of crankiness. When he gets angry, its usually because he is tired, hungry or needs a diaper change.
Here goes...rice cereal with breast milk.

Not a fan.

Digging the sippy cup.

Oatmeal mustache
Watching Daddy get ready in the morning...
Playing with my Big Sissy...
Loving my bouncer...Thanks Nonna!
Rolling ALL over the place...
Snuggle-time with Mama...
Loves to chew on paci"s rather than suck on them.
MMMM...Peas!! (Dislike)
MMMM....Sweet Potatos! (Like a lot)
Precious Boy Smile :) We love you Andy B!! xo

Jarrett's Birthday

Happy Birthday JD aka Daddy Bear! We love you! Here are a few pictures of the fun we had celebrating the rock star Dad/Husband/Son he is!!

Lots of helpers opening gifts...
We went to a hibachi restaurant for dinner. It was the girls first time, and the thought the fire was really cool. Especially Madison :)

Yum Yum!
Daddy requested Dirt Cake this year: a delightful concoction of cool whip, cream cheese, vanilla pudding and crushed oreo cookies. I was admittedly skeptical, but as things go, J said, "Trust me. You'll like it." And sure enough, I did. A lot.
Happy Birthday to the greatest man I know and am lucky enough to also call my husband! xo

*Personality: Lindsay is a talkative, smiling and helpful girl. She loves to help me cook in the kitchen, especially bake! She is totally an eldest child; she is our rule follower, and sometimes plays the role of rule enforcer to her little sister..LOL. Lindsay is learning more and more about the world around her, and has a memory like an elephant. Our big girl has her own opinions and style; she enjoys leggings and tunics, dresses and anything fuzzy or soft. She likes to wear her blonde hair in french braids, pony's and still lets me put in matching bows. Lindsay has a quiet confidence about her, and prefers not to be the center of attention. She loves her baby brother, and can make him laugh and smile the most out the members of our family. Madison and Lindsay are best of friends (most days) and Lindsay will take shy Madison by the hand at gymnastics or the park to go and make friends. She knows Madison looks up to her and enjoys bossing her around and playing school with her. Every once in awhile she will get really angry or emotional, and we see a glimpse of the coming pre-teen years. LOL.

*Learning: Lindsay LOVES to write in her journals and make books. They have been doing lots of writing in her kindergarten class and Lulu comes home from school with tons of beautifully illustrated pictures and beginning sentences: "I love you. I love flowers. I like to run. etc" Her favorite subjects are writing and science. Lindsay's favorite day of the week are Wednesday because she get to go to music class! Lindsay is reading better every day, and has had some great report cards ;)

*Spiritual: Since Lindsay has been in Kindergarten this year, she has been asking great questions about our faith in Christ. There are many students in her class who have different faiths and world views, and we have had the opportunity to have some wonderful conversations about our relationship with Jesus and the way we worship Him. Lindsay especially enjoys reading her Jesus Storybook Bible and likes her Sunday school teacher, Miss Martha. It's been a joy to watch her make connections as we study the Bible and grasp the concept of how much God loves her.

Lindsay Loo, our darling daughter, we are so proud of you! You are a delight, a joy and we are so blessed to be your parents. May all your days be filled with the knowledge you are loved beyond words!

Madison's 1st Trip to the Dentist

Now that Madison has turned 4 years old, our dentist said it was time to pay him a visit! She did great at her first teeth cleaning, and Miss Jane our hygienist made her feel special as she explained all the instruments she used. Maddie chose out Cherry flavored toothpaste, and got to pick out a glow in the dark stickers from the treasure chest for being such a great patient. We are happy to report, no cavities and she does a good job brushing by herself... way to go Big Girl Madison!

Lindsay's 6th Bowling Birthday Party

Lindsay Diane, 6 years old
Happy 6th Birthday Lindsay Loo! The birthday girl really wanted a birthday party outside our house this year, and February in NJ there just a few indoor options ;) She remembered a couple years ago (elephant memory) that we went bowling and said, "A bowling party sounds like fun!" She invited 10 of her closest friends from kindergarten and preschool and they had a blast!

Beautiful Sissy's
We had our own room that she wanted to decorate in rainbow colors. She helped me put goodies in the take-away bags, and thoughtfully gave each of her friends their favorite color bag. The big hits were the glitter goo and notepad and pens ;)

Thank you Auntie Sarah for the cute party dress!
The shots I got of them on the lanes didn't turn out great because of no lights and lots of motion, but the look on her face says it all...super dooper fun!! This was the first birthday that the kids were dropped off, so our hands were full with crazy 6 year olds ;)
6 lbs balls and gutter guards= kindergarten friendly bowling

Lindsay and her besties
There wasn't really any teams; they all just took turns rolling the ball and cheering for each other. Made it go by really fast and they spontaneous dance moves and singing while they waited....don't you love 6 year olds?!

There were moments where they broke into spontaneous high kick lines...
Back in the room they had pizza and punch and opened and played with their goody bags.

Lindsay wanted an ice cream cake for her dessert from Baskin Robbins... Chocolate cake with mint n' chip ice cream, her favorite!

Sweet smile says it all!

Madison was shy at first, then warmed up towards the end!

Lindsay got to go in the wind tunnel and collect tickets to use in the arcade. Each child got a few tokens to play and redeem a prize before they left.

I can't believe she's 6?! Where does time go?

Lindsay told me as we were driving home, "This was the funnest birthday ever!" LOL. Love you sweet girl!

More updates on Lindsay as a 6 year old coming soon...
