Lindsay's Fun Run

Lindsay's school had a Fun Run to benefit the PTO and Mercer Street Friends Food Bank last Saturday. Lindsay wanted to run the 1 mile race this year, and a HUGE thank you to the grandparents who sponsored her!
Lindsay was thrilled and shocked when she got a gift card for being one of the top fundraisers!! Thank you family!!
She looked so cute in her running pants and shirt we got her from Walmart, and she borrowed my ear warmers. It was really cold that morning!

Daddy and his mini-me...everywhere we go we hear "Boy, he sure does look like his Daddy!" So true!
Our beautiful big girl helped me pass out medals at the end of the race...
Lindsay did the warm up with her best friend, Mackenzie (polka dots). When she woke up in the morning she wanted me to run with her, so I dressed in my running clothes just in case she needed me. But, I knew as soon as she saw her friends that old' Mom would be left in the dust. LOL.

And she's off!!
Lindsay ran pretty fast!  Although I didn't time her, she was one of the first girls to finish!
I loved this picture... Maddie got to give Lindsay her medal after the race. Sweetness!

Way to go Lulu!

After the race the kids played at the school's Fall Festival. They jumped in the bounce house, decorated some pumpkin and masks and played lawn games.

Great job Lindsay!! Keep on running the race my sweet girl!
Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12: 1-2

Andrew's First Haircut

A few days after his 1st birthday, Andrew had another 1st...  a HAIRCUT! It wasn't super long in front, but boy, did he have some serious fringe over the ears. I do not cut hair, although I did cut J's a few times while we lived at Pepperdine... It only took a few times before he realized it was worth the $ to have it done better. LOL. Jarrett and his mini-me have identical fine, straight hair so who better to cut it than Daddy?!

Daddy hard at work cutting...
How did we get him to sit still? I made double chocolate cookies with the girls the day before, and we gave him one to eat while he was getting it cut. Lucky Boy!
Are you sure about this Mama?
Didn't seem like a lot, but it looks so much cleaner!

All Done Handsome Boy (with a chocolate face!)!

Watch out Ladies, Andrew Brooks is stylin'!

Andrew Brooks, 12 months

Andrew Brooks, 12 months
Stats:
height 29.5 inches
weight 21 lbs
hair blonde
eyes blue
teeth 4 top, 4 bottom plus 3/4 molars?!
diaper size 4
clothes size 12 months
He's getting close to walking, and is a speed crawler.
Thanks Auntie Katie for my Zebra walker! I'm putting it to use!

Almost walking...but not yet!
*Eating: Loves to eat. Likes: Meatballs, fish, pasta, beans, cooked veggies, any fruit, cheese, yogurt, grilled cheese sandwiches, peanut butter (hooray not allergic!) etc... Dislikes: Scrambled eggs. I made meatloaf the other night and he ate 2 slices by himself, plus veggies. He pulls up to the girls table and will swipe food from their plates. Drew is a pro at self feeding, and is really wanting to use a spoon/fork. I will put one on his tray and he likes to practice. He loves his sippy and straw cups, and drinks water or milk. He eats more than I do during the course of a day. LOL.

My sisters don't realize someday I will be bigger than them...watch out, i'm going to get you back for this!!
*Sleeping: He is taking two naps, one in the morning around 8:30 or 9:00 depending on when he wakes up, usually between 5:30 -6am. Then he naps again in the afternoon around 1:30 or 2:00pm. Andrew goes to bed at 7pm ish, and is officially weaned! Most nights he sleeps through the night (hooray!) except when teething... did I mention he already has molars?! Nuts. He has way more teeth than the girls did at this age.
I love to climb!
*New Stuff: SOCIAL! Our little buddy loves to wave and be social. SAYING "MAMA", "DADA", "BAF" =Bath "BA BA" = Bye Bye and shaking head "NO". Has begun to POINT to show us what he wants. Andrew loves to push buttons, make music/noise with his toys, roll trucks on the ground. I love when he plays he has SOUND EFFECTS "Brrrrrm" for his trucks. LOL. He has enjoyed reading more lately, and his favorite book is "Flip Flap Fly". He sits still for the entire story, and loves to turn pages. This guy loves trucks, tractors and buses. When we walk to pick up Lindsay from school he gets so excited when he sees all the buses in front of the school, starts waving and clapping. I always think the load engine noise will scare him, but when I look at him he has a big ol' grin! Andy loves to be outside, especially with Daddy picking up branches. We have officially dubbed Andrew our climber, (every family has one) and he will climb anything. He has been using his toys as footstools to get himself on the couch, and any pillows lying on the floor he dives in at full speed! I am a little worried about where to put our Christmas Tree this year,,,, haha! We had a friend come play who is a few months older than Drew and they did great parallel playing and were pretty kind to each other when it came to sharing toys, minus a few tackles and eye-poking ;) Andrew loves kids in general, and his favorite people are his big sisters.

Beautiful Fall Day at the park... Andrew had a blast going down the slide with Sissy.

Weee! Swinging'
Happy Happy 1st Birthday Big Boy! We love you our Andy B, and all the joy and fun you bring to our lives. We are so lucky to be your parents, and love watching you grow. xoxo

A Visit from the Tooth Fairy

On Saturday night Lindsay had a visit from the Tooth Fairy! Daddy did the honors (thank goodness, it really grossed me out!) and helped her pull her very first tooth. It was super wiggly, and she was ready for it to come out. She was a brave girl with no tears!

Teeny Tiny Baby Tooth

Madison was so happy for her, and wanted to check out the tooth. She said, "Mama, I think I have a wiggly tooth too!"

Checking out the new missing-tooth smile...

Big Girl Grin ;)
Lindsay carefully placed her tooth in its own pillow on the nightstand. She drew the tooth fairy two pictures, and wrote a letter to her. LOL.
The next morning she couldn't wait to look inside the pocket and saw the tooth fairy left her a letter back, and $10 (there was a special bonus for the first tooth and bravery....the going tooth rate is much less). She was super excited and is trying to figure out how to spend her cash, or save it up for something big. Congratulations sweet Lindsay Loo on loosing your first tooth!!

Andrew's 1st Birthday Party

Our sweet boy is officially ONE!! We had a "Down on the Farm" birthday party for him last weekend, here are some pictures of our guy digging into his cake and having fun!!
Happy 1st Birthday Andrew!!

We had a BBQ feast: BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders, Hot Dogs, Mac n' Cheese, BBQ Beans, Fruit Salad and of course, Sweet Tea and Cupcakes!

Andrew loved the Beans and Meat the best...LOL.

We played three games at the party, Find the Tractor, Pin the Tail on the Cow and a Barn Piñata!

We hid a tiny toy tractor in a bin of rice, then blind folded the kids while they had 20 seconds to feel around and find it! There were also assorted farm animals, and it was pretty challenging.

This sweet little guy had the most fun playing with the tractor digging in the rice! Next was Piñata Time!

He enjoyed hanging out with all the big kids!

The Piñata before it was attacked by a dozen little kids!

Jarrett making it rain candy in the backyard.

We sung "Happy Birthday" but the candle kept blowing out, after he was serenaded twice, we just let him dig in!!

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!!
 A careful first bite...
 Finger Lickin' Good...
 CUPCAKE!!!
 I LOVE CAKE!!!

Yummy!!
Then it was all the kids turn to have cake...

We love cake too!!

The kids had a blast playing with all the lawn games, trampoline and playground toys in the yard. It was a lovely fall day, perfect cool weather for having a backyard party!
