Walking
I am excited to report that I am finally feeling more like myself again and my energy has returned. Before I began feeling like I was getting the flu (i.e. baby on board) I was going to the gym at 5:45am and on the eliptical three or four times a week. I was a little afraid to work out as hard as I was before, so I though I would begin with walking when the weather is good, and doing the eliptical (very slowly) on bad weather days. Today was a gorgeous day in Malibu- 72 degrees and breezy and a good day to begin my exercising! I went to the Pepperdine track and walked seven laps... I thought I had been out there for a hour; nope, only thirty minutes. LOL. I was really excited to finally use my ipod (Thanks Dad!) I got for graduation. I felt so great afterwards, and am excited to do it again and hopefully, gain some laps!

Working out during pregnancy is good! Just DO NOT over-do it! Walking is GREAT and so it the elliptical, just listen to your body and eat to replenish those calories you're burning because you have a little bean to keep growing in there!!! Just don't let your heart rate go over 120 and you'll be fine! I found that the stationary bike was more comfortable for me instead of the elliptical, not the spinning one, the sit down relax one. Although I stopped at 16 weeks due to braxton hicks contractions. Stop if you feel funny or odd... You'll be fine though! OH! DRINK YOUR WATER!!! Love you, Jo!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jolene... I only worked out a little, and I'm still in mvaternity clothes!!! But not too hard!
ReplyDeleteKatie- How is your hand-eye coordination? Better or worse than pre-preggo?
ReplyDeleteWell, hand eye coordination was never the best in the first place (Jarrett can attest to that!) but I haven't really noticed a difference... maybe in a few weeks? I don't know if I can handle even less coordination... I might need to wear a helmet! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat's the way I was (in fact, Micah asked me last week if I get tired of being such a klutz!). When pregnant it was WAY worse! I spilled too many things (ie: greek salad dressing all over the coffee table, not once, not twice, but 3 times! - you'd think I'd learn the 1 or 2nd time!) Lol! Miss you!
ReplyDeleteI was asking because that's how I was going to guess the sex. Mine actually got better (during the 1st trimester)! I caught chicken in my mouth at hibachi and hit a hole in one in mini-golf! So I told people I must be having a boy... Of course, once you really start to grow all bets are off!
ReplyDeleteAnd don't feel bad Jolene. I have multiple scars on the same knee because I keep clipping the coffee table. You think I'd learn too... I blame it on 5 months (and counting) of not enough sleep! (Or more if you count the pregnancy...)
