Five Months

Our sweet, special girl turned five months yesterday! Here are a few pics of her monthly photo shoot...
**Lindsay has been working on sitting up a lot lately... here she is showing off! She can sit up for a couple of seconds before toppling over, usually reaching for something in front of her.

**A Day in the life of Lindsay....we have been dilligent working on our daytime schedule. She usually wakes up around 7:30-8am and plays with Daddy before he goes to work. She eats, and plays and watches a few minutes of Sesame Street. She takes a 2 hour nap around 10am and when she wakes up we eat, play, read, do tummy time. Then she goes down for another 2 hour nap in the afternoon around 2pm. On nice days we go outside and sit on the blanket in the courtyard and play. She likes to take a short cat-nap while I make dinner around 5pm, she eats her rice cereal, takes a bath then she's off to bed at 7:30ish.
**Rice Cereal...Lindsay's been doing good with the rice cereal. We gave her some at around 4 1/2 months, and she liked it OK. We waited a week or so and tried it again and she was definitely more interested! We have watched her become progressively better at opening her mouth and eating the bites from the spoon. This is a big improvement from eating it from her fingers, licking it off the bib or out of the bowl (she was too quick one night!). We are going to start giving it to her 2x a day for the next month to get her ready for fruits and veggies!
**I'm still exclusively breastfeeding, and she's still waking up at night 2 times. The rice cereal hasn't helped her sleep...yet. I really don't mind waking up anyways... I am usually really needing to empty too!
**Look out, she's reaching! She has been reaching for awhile now, however, she will see something and LUNGE for it. Yesterday I was holding her and the TV remote was across the couch and out of nowhere she leaned way forward and grabbed the remote, changed the channel with her mouth and slobbered all over the keys... pretty talented right? She wants to 'touch' everything that we are holding, the camera included as you can see from me trying to hold her back from grabbing it!
**Baby temper... I have also noticed she gets cranky if you take away a toy. Not too sure about this one. I am a little worried about the future...lol.
**Big Blue.... eyes are still blue- I think it's going to stick!
**As you can see, she still lets me put bows in her hair. Which has been growing a TON the past few weeks. No longer is there a bald spot on the back of her head, and no more mullet (whew). I have had fun making bow headbands for her with ribbon from Michaels....
**She has been talking and making her excited-cough noise all the time. Her newest thing is to blow air out of her lips to make the tooting sound... it cracks me up and soaks me simultaneously. We were in the grocery store the other day and she was just blowing away down the aisle.... we turned the corner and got some strange looks from the people in the next aisle. I made sure to walk by so they wouldn't think it came from the other end :)
Here's our sweet girl hammin' it up for the camera... I am cracking up at her supermodel pose...
Simply put, she is such a precious blessing! It's been an adventure being her Mama, watching her grow and develop...I can't wait to see what's in store!
